The Hash Star

About

The Hash Star is a new site born into an infinite galaxy of food blogs. Its shine conveys a defiant approach to food writing, which isn’t steered by advertisers, investors, or publishers hungry for ads. Our first two priorities are keeping readers engaged. Everything else comes in at a distant third.

Irreverence, humor and bluntness preside over three neatly packaged sections that are national in scope. You’ll find feature articles and opinions under Entrees; reviews of food products inside Walk Through the Aisles; and random culinary musings attached to Brown Bits.

What you won’t find are PR-driven pieces about glorified chefs and restaurants that traditionally steal the thunder from those doing stellar work at the bottom of the ladder. The Hash Star aims to give those underdogs top billing when they surprise us with originality and newsworthiness.

Also, recipes will be in short supply because of the abundance of bloggers, celebrities and cookbook authors who do fine jobs at conveying their marvelous meals on myriad sites. We all know where to find them.

So whether your culinary interests are persistent or fleeting — or even non-existent, The Hash Star is a source of entertainment pertaining to all things culinary. Look for fresh uploads a few times a week — and see other posts on Facebook under The Hash Star, and on Twitter and Instagram under thehashstar1.
