Just when we were clenching our stomachs upon learning of the upcoming release of “The Big Bold Book of MTN Dew Recipes,” along came some food-related merch that is even quirkier.
The cookbook, due out Nov. 16, puts electric-green Mountain Dew soda front and center in nearly 40 recipes ranging from breakfast dishes and desserts to dips, appetizers, and entrees. Priced at $30, it can be ordered here.
Perhaps the sugar crash from those recipes will require ample protein hugs with the new Chicken McNugget body pillow by McDonald’s. The fuzzy creation came about through a collaboration with rapper/songwriter Travis Scott. It eats up three feet of couch or bed space with hideous elan and sells for $90, sans the dipping sauces. (Note: As of Nov. 11, supplies have temporarily run out and we’re currently seeing them on eBay for significantly higher prices.)
By sheer coincidence, Amazon’s wide baguette body pillow calls for some surreal snuggling, too. It’s available in three sizes, ranging from nearly 12 inches to almost 3 feet—maybe not quite big enough to fondly remind you of your favorite French baker. Last but not least, 
a pocket-size “purse” resembling a ripe avocado is sure to draw attention when you unzip it to fish out money and personal items. It’s made by GuacOn, a company obsessed with avocados that also sells themed apparel, pillows and accessories. When we last checked, the handy-dandy item was reduced in price from $19.95 to $14.95.
