Product: Crushed Ginger
Description: Twenty frozen cubes of crushed ginger contained in a small tray. The product is made by Dorot Gardens, which grows herbs in southern Israel, and then flash-freezes them. One cube (thawed) equals one teaspoon of fresh ginger.
Preparation summary: Keep frozen until use.
High points: For starters, the product saves you the hassle of wrestling with fresh ginger root, which nobody likes peeling because of their contorted shapes and incorrigible skin. Also, the ginger cubes are more robust and aromatic compared to Dorot’s frozen basil and garlic.
Pop out a few of these cubes from their tray and drop them into marinades, stir fry, sauces and teas for an underlying or overt ginger flavor. You’re in control depending on how many you use.
Low points: None
Average retail price: $2.29

These are such a time saver! I hate dealing with ginger so I always have these in the freezer ready to go.
