Vegans in some areas of California have begun clucking over KFC’s new fried Beyond Chicken, which recently made its debut in 50 locations throughout the state. The plant-based “poultry” is shaped into nuggets, and then breaded and fried. It’s sold in six and 12-piece combos or a la carte.
Early consumer reviews run the gamut, although many agree the fake chicken offers the texture and smell of real meat. Flavor wise, it’s been described as everything from “adequately salty” and “under-seasoned” to “dry” and “comforting.” Visit www.kfc.com for more info.
That’s funny. KFC’s “poultry” sounds like nothing more than a snack with a dip.
