If you’re the type who likes dropping obscure culinary-related words in social situations, “arachibutyrophobia” will add some swag to your vernacular.
[Araki-BOOTY-RIO-fobia] describes people who possess a fear of peanut butter sticking to the roofs of their mouths and thus choking to death. Perhaps not as irrational as the fear of comets (cometophobia) or bald people (peladophobia), it is deemed a valid anxiety disorder by medical professionals, meaning sufferers exposed to the creamy (or chunky) goodness can fall victim to panic attacks and heart palpitations in a jiff—no pun intended.
in a jiff arf arf arf!
What do you call people like me who like that sensation…. crazy?
Add to interesting phobias: coulrophobia–a fear of clowns. I’m glad arachibutyrophobia isn’t one of mine.
I think you DID intend the jiff pun, sir! LOL!
