Product: Ginger Miso Orange Dressing
Description: Salad dressing with a canola oil base and containing ginger puree, orange juice and organic miso. Paprika, sea salt, sesame oil and dried egg are also among the ingredients. It’s part of Target’s increased line of Good & Gather products.

High points: The dressing’s three primary flavors are given equal play, along with a welcome essence of sesame. All sorts of salad ingredients benefit from this fairly thin liquid, especially butter lettuce, cucumbers, pea pods, radishes, cabbage and crushed peanuts. And so does stir-fry chicken. On a whim, we incorporated about a half cup of it into a hot skillet as bite-size pieces of breast meat were cooking. The end result was similar to orange chicken from a Chinese restaurant, but without the sticky coating and intense, saccharine flavor.
Low points: If you’re a stickler for Ranch dressing, this will leave you cursing.
